I went to an African dance gig a few weeks ago and was so inspired by the power of the drums. There’s something in all of us human beings that responds to a beat, it awakes the things in us that are basic and primal. Then there were the dancers themselves…dance is such a giant part of my life and to see such commitment to movement really moved me (no pun, promise) to create something that fused the two things I love the most.
